One Lincoln Recipes – Spiced Apple Cider

The holidays are a fun time for people of every age and we think it’s important to begin creating family traditions with your children while they’re young. Our restaurant manager, Peter Bales, agrees and created a delicious non-alcoholic apple cider recipe that you can make with your children and everyone at your table will enjoy.

Spiced Apple Cider

Ingredients

  • 1 Gallon Apple Cider
  • 5 Dried Whole Cloves
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1 Dried Whole Nutmeg
  • 5 Star Anise
  • Zest of 1 Orange

Instructions

  1. Bring the apple cider to a boil. Reduce to a simmer.
  2. Gather the Cloves, Cinnamon Sticks, Nutmeg, Star Anise and the Orange Zest into cheesecloth and tie off.
  3. Steep or mull the ingredients in the cheesecloth in the hot cider while simmering for approximately one hour.
  4. Strain the cider and serve garnished with a cinnamon stick.

We made our version non-alcoholic so you could enjoy with the entire family, but if you’re looking to add a little extra holiday cheer to the recipe, we recommend whiskey, rum, or even a pumpkin beer. We hope you enjoy this delicious seasonal drink!
